Valenzuela suffered from a rare condition at the age of 30, which limits the flow of blood.

Dr. Larry Santora, who led the procedure, stated that the heart contraction is likely caused by one of the arteries getting pinched, resulting in a slight bend in the muscle covering that part of the heart.
Valenzuela was treated with a beta blocker during intense exercise to lower his heart rate.
