The late biologist had two children (twins), Ian and Galo, with her husband, Fabio Tarasow. The couple welcomed their kids around in the early 2010s.
Melina Furman co-authored the book “Extreme Curiosity” with her 12-year-old twin sons. This year, the book was presented at the April Book Fair.

Tarasow stood by his wife and supported her throughout her battle with colon cancer.
Earlier this year, the couple went to China to try to reverse the course of the disease. During that time they co-wrote and shared funny daily blog reports.
