Canadian tennis player Gabriel Diallo hails from a sports-loving family. His parents made sure that he would achieve success.
Gabriel has recalled how his mom and dad sat him down to explain why he would have to practice tennis and miss more school when he was only 10 years old.

He may be rising tennis star but the young athlete said he always had other plans in case his tennis career didn’t work. His other plans are either joining the stock market or the banking field.
However, the Montreal native’s accomplished his first remarkable win when he defeated World no. 25 Daniel Evans during the Lexus Surbiton Trophy quarter-finals in June 2023.
Gabriel also reached the third round in the 2024 US Open by defeating French player Arthur Fils in four sets.
It is impressive, considering it’s only his second major tournament appearance. And it seems he might not have to divert his career path from tennis.
Gabriel Diallo Parents Met In Russia
Gabriel Diallo is Canadian nationality and comes from cuturally rich background. His mother is from Ukraine and his father, Moubassirou Diallo, is from Guinea, Africa.
That means the tennis player’s parents are from two different continents and met in Russia, which is part of Europe and Asia.
They went to Russia to pursue higher studies, and later, they moved to Canada and settled down there. For those unversed, Diallo is quite familiar with the Russian language. Moubassirou and his wife taught their son.
But he said he pretends like he doesn’t know it among those who are fluent in Russian language.
As his maternal and paternal family come from two very different backgrounds. However, Diallo said that both sides are family oriented.
Also, his maternal grandmother resides with them in Canada and his paternal family has their full support to him from Africa.
As for their profession, Gabriel Diallo’s father is an engineer and his mother, Iryna, is a professional handball player, in Villeray Plark for footwork drills.
Furthermore, the Canadian tennis star once revealed that his mother and father wanted him to have more than just tennis career defining his identity.
Diallo added that they encouraged him to explore different field and get involve in them because a tennis career doesn’t last forevers.
That’s how, the 23-year-old became a well-rounded athlete with training in swimming, gymnastics, and also chess.
While attending the University of Kentucky, Gabriel even trained in ballet and good at playing piano.
