Despite her serious health condition, Melina Furman continued working on several projects until her last moments.

In her last few years, the Argentine scholar focused on writing. She authored different books, including “Guide to Raising Curious Children” or “Educar mentes curiosas.”

She may be well-known as one of the most influential figures in Spanish-speaking education, but her family and friends remember her for her humor, sensitivity, and never-ending charm.

Melina Furman Was A Loving Mother Of Two Sons, Ian And Galo

The late biologist had two children (twins), Ian and Galo, with her husband, Fabio Tarasow. The couple welcomed their kids around in the early 2010s.

Melina Furman co-authored the book “Extreme Curiosity” with her 12-year-old twin sons. This year, the book was presented at the April Book Fair.

Moreover, Furman embraced the concept of the American psychologist and professor Jerome Bruner.

According to his theory, “anyone can learn any knowledge at any age if the teaching method is appropriate.” This idea was central to Furman’s educational philosophy.

Extreme Curiosity is a continuation of her 2018 bestseller “Guide to Raising Curious Children.” The three main characters of the book are Melina and her two sons.

In an interview with Infobae, the late researcher revealed that the idea of including her sons came after Siglo XXI publishing house suggested writing a book of experiments.

But I needed a new challenge: that’s why I thought of doing it with my children. They are almost 12 years old now, but when they were between 4 and 7, we did a lot of these things at home.

The late researcher’s spouse is also an education expert. Precisely, he is an educational technology expert at FLACSO (the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences) in Argentina.

While paying his tribute, Furman’s friend Ariel “Hache” Merpert wrote;

I met Meli on the subway. I worked in education with Fabio Tarasow , her partner, and that’s why we met on a trip to our homes. We had just been introduced, but we knew each other a little through Fabio

Furthermore, Melina was married to Fabio for over one decade. As both were involved in the same field, love and passion connected them.
