According to the advocates, Sandra Birchmore’s family always thought that she was m*rdered.
Former detective Matthew Farwell of the Stoughton Police Department was indicted in the demise of Sandra, with whom he has been accused of having a physical relationship since she was 15.

In October 2020, Birchmore, 23, told Farwell that she wanted to have a baby, and he agreed to try and impregnate her if she stayed silent about his past behavior.
Birchmore wanted to have a child and was excited about her pregnancy, but Farwell was not, and his behavior grew more erratic and dangerous.
Following the incident, she survived years of grooming, physical torture, and violence.
Prosecutors said Farwell K*lled her on February 1, 2021, in her Canton, Massachusetts, apartment when he could no longer control her.
Sandra Birchmore’s Parents Were Originally From The United States
Sandra Birchmore was born in 1998 in Stoughton, a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States, to her mother, Denise F. Birchmore, and her father, Warren Birchmore.
However, her parents separated when she was a child. She was raised by her mother, Denise, and her grandmother, Claire G. Gaudet, who are of white ethnicity and originally from the United States.
Moreover, Sandra and her entire family followed American culture and festivals together.
Her mother, Denise, worked as a payroll clerk at Howard Johnson’s in Milton for several years.
When Birchmore participated in the Stoughton police explorers program until she graduated high school in 2015, Sandra’s mother wrote a letter thanking the department and Devine for the 2014 program.
Sadly, Sandra’s mother passed away on May 18, 2016, at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a long illness.
The same year, her grandmother Claire also left the world following a long illness. After their demise, Birchmore was raised by her aunt, who also left the world in 2019.
On February 29, 2020, she posted a photo with her grandmother in her memory. She captioned,

According to State Police records, Birchmore told a colleague at the Sharon elementary school where she worked that her father had never been in the picture.
Sandra Birchmore’s Family Filed A Civil Lawsuit
In December 2022, Birchmore’s family filed suit in Norfolk County Superior Court, saying that the officer’s actions and negligence led her to take her own life.
According to The Boston Globe, her family filed a civil lawsuit against Stoughton police, the town, and the three former police officers in June 2024.
A pathologist hired by her family said Birchmore’s demise was a m*urder caused by strangulation.
In response, Chief McNamara said Birchmore was disturbed and troubled by the findings, which warranted further examination at the highest level.
A SWAT team took Matthew Farwell into custody in a shopping plaza on August 27, 2024, and placed him in court.
