The courageous captain of a vessel that assisted in the evacuation of fifteen guests and crew members from the sinking Bayesian superyacht has shared his observations of what he witnessed.
According to reports, the Bayesian was already anchored close by, but when the storm intensified, it began to fill with water and began to sink.
Subsequently, 69-year-old Karsten Borner and his group saw a flare fired from a life raft with fifteen people.
According to the skipper, he promptly radioed the coast guard, who sent out boats to assist in guiding the raft to safety.
“We managed to keep the ship in position, and after the storm was over, we noticed that the ship behind us was gone, went flat on the water and then down”.

Karsten saw the Bayesian flip with a light. He saw a ‘little baby’ in the life raft and later revealed her to be Sophie, a one-year-old English girl.
Furthermore, Borner reports that three of the four injured persons had serious injuries.
“We brought them to our ship, and then we communicated with the Coast Guard. Then after some time, the Coast Guard came, and later they picked the injured people [up],” the captain of the nearby ship said.
