False News Of Mark Henry Surfaced On Facebook

A Facebook post claiming the passing of Mark Henry surfaced on Sunday. It featured his picture, and the caption read, “Uncle Mark passed away.”

The post was shared from a fake Facebook account of fellow WWE star Bill Goldberg. The post also shared a link to an article.

Though it was not an official announcement, the post garnered much attention and condolences started pouring in.

Eventually, the false news reached the two-time world champion himself. Without wasting any time, the 53-year-old dispelled the fake news.

The WWE Legend Wrote On Instagram “I’m Alive!”

Henry shared a short video on his Instagram account, which has half a million followers, captioning it “I’m alive!”

“Guys, don’t believe everything you hear. I’m feeling pretty alive. Watching Longhorns, hanging out. About to go get a snack. Holla at y’all.”

The second person wrote, “Man there are some seriously sick puppies out there. Nothing but love to you Mark.”

Another person expressed relief, thanking god. Furthermore, his post amassed over 5.6K likes.

Why Is Henry’s Passing News Trending?

While the fake news has taken the internet by storm, it is unclear why the rumor of the former WWE professional surfaced.

Surprisingly, it is not the first time. Henry has been the subject of such hoaxes several times throughout his career.

As reported by The Sun, in 2011 it was reported that he had lost his life live on an episode of SmackDown. At that time, Mark was defeated by Paul Wight, aka Big Show.

Sudden and unexpected passings during wrestling are not uncommon. However, this time the Facebook as mentioned earlier post seems to be the origin of the false news.
